When selecting raw materials for our products, we emphasize choosing the best quality. At the same time, we respect the value of our suppliers and ensure fair prices and payments.
We strive to source locally as much as possible, especially from the European Union, including Belgium and our immediate neighbors. This has several benefits, including supporting local economies, reducing transport distances and promoting sustainable production methods. By sourcing locally, we can also reduce the carbon footprint of our supply chain. This is how we do our part.

Our buildings are energy-efficiently constructed. We have invested in modern and sustainable technologies to minimize energy consumption. Through efficient insulation, smart heating systems and advanced lighting systems, we reduce our energy consumption and contribute to lower CO2 emissions.
We carefully monitor our refrigeration systems to ensure that no unnecessary energy is wasted. Through regular inspection and maintenance, we ensure that our refrigeration systems operate optimally and are energy efficient.
At Jermayo, we use solar panels to generate our own energy. More than 30% of our production is covered by the energy we generate ourselves. In this way, we reduce our dependence on non-renewable energy sources and contribute to a more sustainable energy supply.
We make the surplus of our own generated green energy available to families, for example during weekends when there is no production. In this way, we make optimal use of the generated energy and offer a sustainable alternative to domestic energy consumption.
As part of our CSR policy, we have installed charging points for electric cars and bicycles. We want to promote sustainable transportation and offer our employees and customers the opportunity to charge their electric vehicles while staying at our location. This helps to promote clean and environmentally friendly mobility.
To reduce the energy consumption of our PCs, they operate at separate stations optimized for energy efficiency. Through advanced energy management systems and smart standby modes, our PCs individually consume little energy. This helps us reduce unnecessary energy consumption and reduce our carbon footprint.
We also attach great importance to responsible water use and take measures to reduce our water consumption and treat our wastewater in an environmentally friendly manner.
One of the ways we achieve this is by making our staff aware of the importance of avoiding excessive use of tap water. We encourage our employees to be water-conscious and use water only when it is really needed. Through internal communication, we promote a sustainable water culture within our organization.
In addition, we take responsibility for our wastewater. At our site, wastewater generated during our operations is carefully treated before being discharged into the city sewer system. This process of water treatment ensures that any contaminants are removed and that the water leaving our site meets applicable environmental standards. In this way, we minimize the impact of our wastewater on the local ecosystem and help preserve water quality.
At Jermayo, we strive to minimize our transportation-related impact on the environment and promote efficiency. We have taken several measures to promote sustainable transportation.
To reduce CO2 emissions, we carefully choose our company vehicles based on their CO2 emissions. We prefer vehicles with low CO2 emissions, thereby reducing our carbon footprint and contributing to cleaner air and more sustainable mobility.
In addition, we actively encourage our customers to place larger orders at a time. By combining larger orders, we can reduce the number of transport movements. This results in more efficient use of transportation resources and lower greenhouse gas emissions.
We strive to purchase more raw materials from the same supplier and at the same time in larger volumes. By joint purchasing and bundling orders, we can reduce transport movements. This results in fewer miles on the road, less traffic congestion and reduced environmental impact of transportation.
Another initiative we have taken is to manage the washing of clothing in-house. By keeping clothing washing in-house, we eliminate the need for external transportation for this specific purpose. This helps reduce transportation miles and promotes more sustainable operations.

We go beyond the mandatory legal fractions and ensure that sorting in our company is done in more than the mandatory categories. By providing more extensive sorting options, we can reuse, recycle and send valuable materials to the appropriate processing channels. In this way, we reduce the amount of waste going to landfill and contribute to a more efficient use of resources.
We are continuously developing and implementing projects aimed at further reducing and better sorting waste. By applying innovative techniques, such as using advanced sorting equipment and implementing internal recycling programs, we strive to optimize waste reduction and reuse valuable materials.
In addition, we are committed to minimizing food loss. Whenever possible, unavoidable food is processed or donated to our staff or local food banks. In this way, we try to have a positive impact on the community while reducing food waste.
